Lights Out

...the three phenomenal young players, Magnus Boye Hansen (violin), Steven Walter (cello) and Mathias Susaas Halvorsen (piano) performed without any possibility of visual communication with one another. No scores, no glance at the keyboard, total darkness. The usual concet situation, in which visual impressions also play a role, was suddenly no longer there. Instead, all the other senses were noticeably enhanced.

When experiencing this critically acclaimed project, audience members find themselves in complete darkness, with absolutely no visual input.  Without the sight, the other senses grow more important and the hearing takes on an especially important role. In this state people are more receptive and open to musical experiences, and for years our group has been developing this concert format to be as unique an experience as possible. We build our programs without any interuptions, with each piece transitioning elegantly into the next.

Musicians are violinist Magnus Boye Hansen, cellist Steven Walter and myself. The project has its own website at www.lightsouttrio.com
